The Autumn Equinox is a moment of balance.
Light and dark held in equal measure.
Expansion giving way to contraction.
A quiet turning inward.
In the language of Chinese medicine, this is the meeting place of Earth and Metal:
Earth: nourishment, integration, being held
Metal: clarity, refinement, letting go
This retreat is an invitation to step into that threshold — not as theory, but as lived experience.
To walk it.
To feel it.
To let it shape how you practise.
What this retreat is
This is not a training.
It is not something to complete.
It is a space to return to your practice in a different way.
Over three days on the Isle of Arran, we will work with:
> The land as teacher
> The body as landscape
>The elements as living forces
Through a blend of:
> Guided walks and direct experience of place
> Ritual and seasonal practice
> Geomythography and elemental understanding
> Acupuncture point reflection in nature
> Curated conversations and shared inquiry
> Rest, space, and informal connection
This is where your knowledge begins to settle, integrate, and deepen.
Why Arran
Arran is often described as Scotland in miniature.
But it is also something else entirely.
Metal lives in the land itself —
in the volcanic rock, the exposed coastline, the clarity and structure of the landscape.
Earth is found in how we gather —
in the farmland, the food we share, and the experience of being held in community.
Across the weekend, we move between the two:
Being nourished.
Refining what matters.
Letting go of what doesn’t.
Held within a landscape that makes both possible.
THE SHAPE OF THE WEEKEND
The retreat is intentionally small — limited to 7 practitioners.
Seven has long been associated with:
- spiritual inquiry
- inner refinement
- the movement from knowledge to wisdom
This allows for depth, spaciousness, and genuine connection.
The rhythm of the weekend includes:
- Opening ritual in nature
- Guided land-based practices
- Elemental teachings woven through direct experience
- Group conversations (with space for depth, not performance)
- Time alone for integration and rest
- Shared meals, tea, and quiet moments
It is carefully paced — structured, but never rushed.
Who is this retreat for?
This retreat is for practitioners who:
- Feel the call to deepen, rather than accumulate more knowledge
- Want to reconnect their work to nature and lived experience
- Recognise that being resourced matters as much as being skilled
- Are ready to sit with what they already know — and let it transform them
You do not need to be an acupuncturist.
But you do need to be in practice with people — and willing to explore your work at a deeper level.
"I created this retreat because, as a practitioner, one of my greatest challenges has been refining myself as an instrument of healing. True mastery goes beyond book knowledge — it requires a deep, ongoing commitment to cultivating a relationship with both nature and self."
Claire Dabreo, Founder & Five Element Acupuncturist.

Meet your host.
I’m Claire Dabreo, founder of The Harmony Principle and a Five Element acupuncturist, doula, clinical supervisor and mentor, and retreat leader based on the Isle of Arran.
My work bridges clinical practice with seasonal energetics, helping practitioners and clients alike to reconnect with nature’s cycles as a pathway to balance and creativity.
Immerse is an invitation to pause, recalibrate, and connect more deeply to the natural world.

What Practitioners Say
“A really gorgeous weekend that both inspired me to make changes within my business while also feeling like a deep exhale away from the stresses of being self-employed.”
“It felt equally inspiring as it did nourishing and grounding.”
“When we sit and observe the land… we can see life and death without fear. Only rebirth, ease and peace.”
“A perfect opportunity to exhale deeply, reconnect to nature, and the energy of the season.”
“Claire holds the space with warmth and care… I left feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and deeply grateful.”
“Listening to you speak about the elements felt different… more resonant than how we were taught.”
What makes this different
This work sits at the intersection of:
- clinical practice
- seasonal philosophy
- lived, embodied experience
You won’t be asked to perform insight.
You won’t be overwhelmed with content.
Instead, you will be invited to:
- notice more
- feel more
- trust what you already know
And allow that to reshape how you practise.
